A Haven for My Heart: Hakdong Beach

A Haven for My Heart: Hakdong Beach

In April, Hakdong was breathtaking, like a masterpiece painted on canvas, blending pebbles glittering in the sunlight, the cobalt-blue sea, and the soft green hues of the mountains.

I made up my mind, sped away, and arrived at 11:00... After checking out the surroundings here and there, I grabbed my easel, canvas, and tools, setting up the easel in the spot I had scoped out in advance. (I decided not to pitch a parasol, thinking it might block the path.)

Hakdong Pebble Beach! A place that is beautiful no matter when you visit!
How on earth could colors like these exist?

April in Hakdong is absolutely, crazily stunning. A heavenly gift created by nature! If I don't embrace and kiss these emotions on canvas, I feel like I might go crazy.

Pulling out my brush, I quickly transfer this heavenly gift—playing a touching orchestra alongside the light green mountains, the fantastically shifting sea, and the waves—onto the pure white canvas with oil paints.

It is deeply moving. Am I really the only person painting such a beautiful place?!

I am not afraid of other people's gazes. I don't want to let slip away these uncontrollable emotions stirred by this beautiful scenery; I want to express them in my own way and keep them forever etched in my heart.

...

It was completed in about an hour and a half. Whether it's well-painted or not doesn't matter. Intoxicated by this fantastic scenery, I managed to stand here with much effort, and as long as I was overwhelmingly moved by such beauty and became one with it across the full canvas, that is enough...

I am happy. No, once again, I am deeply moved...

The scenery of Hakdong stopped in April, and I poured out emotions that felt eternal across the entire canvas. . . . Reminiscing about the emotions of that midday on April 26, 2025, which will never come again...
